With the D&H Rail Trail earning the designation of “Trail of the Year” in 2021, the GFCBA’s involvement with the Outdoor Town initiative is more important than ever. Looking forward, plans are underway to expand our fundraising and grant efforts, with a focus to enhance town aesthetics, local commerce, and overall quality of life within the Greater Forest City region.
In 2022, the GFCBA ramped up our fundraising efforts with 3 events. Our Glory Days 80’s Jam in February, our first annual Trail Trot in honor of Donnie Teague in May, and our second annual Big Backyard Poker Run in July raised over $10,000! We are so thankful for our supportive members and community for the success of this year’s fundraising efforts. These monies will be used to match grant money for community projects and town beautification. All of our events are a wonderful opportunity for business members to be involved in community activities and for community members and visitors to support our members and explore the beauty of our big backyard!
Other events we will be hosting in 2024 are:
-Easter on Main
-Trail Town Festival / Light Parade
-Halloween on Main
-Christmas on Main
The GFCBA was over 80 members strong in 2023 and hope that in 2024 we will see many more businesses and organizations from all over the Greater Forest City Area join us!
